GIGAIPC Release New QBiX-WP Series for Rugged IP67-Rated Embedded System powered by Intel® Core™ and Atom® Processors
Taipei, Taiwan, January 12th 2021 – GIGAIPC announced its first IP-67 Rugged Embedded System: QBiX-WP Series, for harsh conditions, such as in chemical, mining industry, food and beverage factory, outdoor digital signage and automation/robotic control where the systems are in constant threat of water splash and dust immersion. It offers IP67-rated protection with waterproof and dustproof capability in -20°C to 80°C wide range of operating temperatures and +9-36V wide range DC input with various power protection. The hermetic and rugged enclosure of extruded aluminum protects the system from corrosion and M12 connectors and specialized molded o-rings secure the cable connectivity.
It includes QBiX-WP-WHLA8265H-A1 and QBiX-WP-APLA3940H-A1 which are based on Intel® Core™ i5-8265U Processor and Atom® x5-E3940 Processor, to provide low power but robust computing performance in fanless design. This series of hardened embedded box PC support dual DDR3L/DDR4 SO-DIMM slots with system memory up to 8GB/32GB. In addition, 1 x 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD and extra M.2 M-key are available for sufficient storage. Abundant I/O ports, such as USB 2.0, COM ports and GPIO are perfect for various industrial and IoT applications.

The Importance of IP67 & M12 Connectors
The IP Code, or Ingress Protection Code, is a standard to rate the degree of protection provided by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures against intrusion, dust, accidental contact, and water. IP67-rated system means to have level 6 of solid particle protection to be dust-tight with no dust ingression as well as level 7 of liquid ingress protection being immersed into water up to 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) for a duration of 30 minutes.
M12 connectors are circular connectors with a 12-mm locking thread specified in IEC 61076-2-101, to provide the same grade of IP-67 ingress protection while the system is operating without disconnection in washdown and corrosive environments. GIGAIPC QBX-WP Series contains these industrial criteria to be the perfect embedded system for many applications, such as factory automation, robotic control, food and beverage, transportation, agriculture, and so on.
